Meg Wallace ~ Meet the Artist

Meet Meg

By designation, I’m a professional photographer. But if ‘People Person’ were a designation, I’d also be that. Oh, and a storyteller, too.

My father was a writer and a storyteller. He had a way of wrapping up moments in words and delivering them in a way that made you feel you were right there. When I received my first camera as a gift in elementary school, I quickly discovered it was a way for me to tell my story as well as others’ stories, and I’ve been hooked on photographic storytelling ever since. I’d love nothing more than to tell your story next.

I’m determined, passionate, fun-loving, spontaneous and outgoing.  I’m adventurous by nature, and I love meeting new people, learning new things and playing in the great outdoors. My profession was ‘teacher’ for 15 years and I ran my photography business on the side for 5 years. What started as a hobby soon turned into a passion, and in 2015, I ‘retired’ from teaching to run my photography business full time. I feel so fortunate to live my passion every day.

Photography has married my love of art and fine things with my passion for people.  I look at life from a different perspective, seeking out beauty, joy and happiness. That’s my approach to photography, too. I don’t just take pictures, I capture moments and memories. No matter your unique style and personality, my photography reflects your heart and your essence. I  love going the extra mile to get the perfect shot for my clients, regardless of whether that means climbing a tree or lying in the middle of the road!

Our Approach

I know, we’re back to storytelling again. But the majority of the time we’re at a wedding, that’s what we’re doing. Sure, we capture posed family/group photos for your album, but we’re there to capture your day as it unfolds, unobtrusively, in a natural way. The day is about you and yours, so while we don’t stand out in the crowd, we’re still there for all the moments without interfering with your day.

Editing and Style

Just with fashion and music, there are trends in photography. Naturally, these, too, go out of style. We capture your wedding/family/engagement/maternity/newborn photos in beautiful light, edited lightly to bring out the best in colour and contrast. We want you to look back at your photos 25 years from now and feel like it was yesterday. Our style is timeless, to be enjoyed forever.

I come from a family of fine artists. When it became evident I couldn’t paint or draw to save my life, I took up photography so I wasn’t disowned!
